Cultural Exploration

Cultural Exploration

At South Loop Elementary School, we believe in celebrating our diversity by learning about other cultures. The following activities provide avenues for learning:

South Loop Around the World
Free Grades Pre-K - 8th Enrollment: N/A

South Loop Around the World is an evening event where our families come together to celebrate and learn about our diverse cultures. Families are invited to create a display about their culture with foods, artifacts, photographs and books.  Our celebration culminates with several live performances, including music and dance.  It is a special evening that all of our families enjoy, whether presenting about their own culture or learning about others. This school year's event will be held in Spring 2012.

Cultural Awareness Classroom Activities

One day each month is designated as a Culture Awareness Day! Teachers plan classroom activities to learn about the month's designated cultural group. Details about what is happening in your child's classroom can be found on your teacher's classroom website.
