Fioretti and studentsFor an area service project and in coordination with Alderman Fiorettis office, the South Loop Brownie and Cadette Troop collected pennies to purchase trees to be planted throughout the Chicagoland Area. Out of the 100 total trees planted in Chicago, 5 were planted on the west side of South Loop Elementary on Earth Day (April 22nd). This service project also marks the 100th year anniversary of the Girl Scouts  from which the number of total trees planted (100) was derived.
