Open Forum on School Branding 6pm - 7pm - Main Bldg. - Little Theater

The Marketing and Communications committee is in the process of reviewing and updating our school branding. We will host a branding brainstorming session on Monday, May 16 at 6:00 PM in the school auditorium. This session is open to all persons, including teachers, neighbors, parents or middle school age students, who want to talk about what the school means to them. We are particularly interested in engaging anyone who has experience with graphics design or copy writing who would be willing to engaging in this creative process. You do not have to RSVP to attend, but if you do plan to attend, please drop a line to Jacqueline Toepfer at [email protected] to let us know of your intentions. Hope to see you there!

Registration for incoming Kindergarten - 8th grades is in the Main Office ONLY () beginning April 4th from 8AM-2PM daily. Even if a family isn't 100% sure their child will be coming to SLES in the fall, it is highly recommended you enroll as soon as possible so your place is reserved and accounted for. 

Documents needed to enroll:

1) Child's original birth certificate

2) Parent/guardian picture id (must show neighborhood address) 

3) Child's updated medical, eye and dental records 

4) 2 proofs of residency (electric, gas, landline phone bills only, lease agreement

South Loop's Tuition-Based Preschool program is now full for the 2011-2012 school year.  However, we are still accepting applications for our waitlist.  The Tuition-Based Preschool program is a full-day literacy-based program in a nurturing atmosphere with whole group, small group, and individualized instruction. Register for South Loop's Extended Day Summer Camp. Camp runs from June 20 - August 12, 2011 8:00 am to 6:00 pm daily. Applications are available on the school's website southloopschool.net or in both main offices. 

8th Grade parents - please begin to make payments for eighth grade fees. We need to make deposits for the Luncheon, the ceremony space and other graduation items.

3rd, 6th, 8th grade parents - please read the promotion requirements located on the CPS website.

Saturday, May 21^st come support South Loop's 3rd-5th grade students at the Interschool Science Competition at the Illinois Institute of Technology, 3010 S. Wabash from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

May 26^th - 27^th Field Days - Main Bldg

Outdoor field activities for 1st-8th graders. Dad Volunteers are needed. Contact Mr. York the Gym teacher.

May 31^st - Jun 3^rd - Career Week Both Buildings

Thursday, June 2^nd Students to Volunteer @ Greater Chicago Food Depository 12:30pm - 4:30pm - Student volunteers to be let out at 12:30pm on those days and will return to the school around 4:30pm
