The Local School Council (LSC) is excited about the upcoming school year and met in July to select a new parent representative among other items.
Abundant "thanks" to Beth Aversa for her service to the LSC this past year and well wishes for her family's new adventure in Memphis. Many students have been touched by the graciousness of "Miss Beth" over the years and will miss her personal touch - the lucky school who gets her next!
Welcome to Lynne Pieper, mother to current and former students, Maddie, Corey, and Chris, who joins the LSC with many years experience at South Loop as well as in other educational pursuits. We look forward to her insight as the school year begins.
The LSC is comprised of the Principal, parents, teachers, staff, and community members. LSCs participate in the governance of Chicago Public Schools and are responsible for (3) main duties: approving how school funds and resources are allocated; developing and monitoring the annual School Improvement Plan; and evaluating and selecting the school's principal.
The LSC meets monthly during the school year in the Auditorium of the Main Building. Meetings occur 6:15 - 7:45 pm on the following dates - everyone is welcome to attend:
